Adult Learn to Sail Program Information

Adult lessons are for ages 18 and above.

Adult lessons are offered in the  Club 420 Dinghy which is equipped with Spinnaker and trapeze for those who have advanced skills and like a little more adventure.  The course is taught over 7 evenings starting at 6 pm Monday evenings and goes till dusk or about 9:30 pm for June and July, and a little earlier in August.  Evening sailing is usually light winds and calm seas which makes for a beautiful setting to be on the water.  Upon completion of the program, all Sailors will be invited to a Friday evening sail on members larger keel boats with the evening coming to an end with a BBQ at the club afterwards. Of course, spouses or significant others are welcome too, it's our way of saying thank you for learning with us.
CAN Sail levels can be obtained during the program, however, the purpose of the course is to teach you to sail and to get out on the water,  so unless your goal is to become a sailing Instructor the CANSail level obtained is purely decorative.  Our objective for you is to feel comfortable sailing the points of sail, understand basic sail trim, or advanced sail trim if you already sail, and to feel more comfortable in the event your goal is to purchase a sailboat for the cottage or here on the lake.   We like the lake!
