Thank You to Our Volunteers….
June has been a busy month of racing, cruising, TGIFs, social events and our charitable events. The OTMH and Blind Sailing programs for 2012 were a success for all who participated and a huge thank you to all who volunteered their time. The Easter Seals Regatta is July 14th if you are looking for our next charitable event. A special thank you goes to Richard Bissonnette for OTMH, Ron Parker for Blind Sailing, and Natalie Bullard for Easter Seals.
Our Cruising program has been active this season with cruises to RHYC and Mimico, there are more planned for the summer so check the website or contact Joan Spears for the details. One of our most active volunteers is Grad Dewar; Grad is generally regarded as our Club photographer who takes thousands of photographs of our events throughout the year. He shares these photos on his newly updated website which you may access through the BHYC home page or directly at http://www.graddewar.com.
At the recent TGIF, we invited Mike Rankin from TOWARF to join us for the evening and speak to BHYC members regarding any boat safety questions they may have and to offer a voluntary boat inspection. Halton Police inspections are non-voluntary and I would recommend that all of our Members take TOWARF up on their offer to ensure all is in order before heading out on the lake.
See you at the Club, Jay Kirkpatrick commodore@bhyc.on.ca
