Information for Visitors to Bronte Harbour Yacht Club
Bronte Harbour Yacht Club is located at the mouth of Bronte Creek about four
miles from Oakville Harbour, in charming and historic Bronte Village and
within walking distance of a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs,
churches, a grocery store, a delicatessen, boutiques, banks, an ice cream
store, a launderette, parks, beaches, and more. Public transportation is
steps away. In addition, the Metro Marine building beside Bronte Creek
provides marine services, i.e. a chandlery, boat repairs, engine and
electrical repairs, and haul-out facilities.
Our reciprocal policy is to offer three nights Mediterranean-style mooring
at no charge, space permitting, however we are unable to take reservations.
We can accommodate boats up to 35 feet with drafts up to eight feet. An
Officer of the Day is on duty in the afternoons on most weekends and Friday
evenings. During the week between 9:00 am & 5:00 pm visitors can locate our
Officer of the Day at "Dock 16" (a retail chandlery in the Metro Marine
building). Channel 68 is monitored when the club is open - evenings during
the week and from around mid-day on weekends. If there is no Officer of the
Day available, visitors are asked to tie up at the visitors' dock (up the
river, just below the Lakeshore Road bridge) and check-in with the bar staff
for a mooring assignment. Please fly your club burgee and show your
membership card to the Officer of the Day or to the bar staff.
Most slips offer power and fresh water access. Gas barbeques and picnic
tables are available at the club, and ice can be purchased from bar staff.
Our club house offers washrooms, showers, bar services on a cash basis,
television, and a computer with internet access. Pump-outs and fuel are
available in the Bronte Outer Harbour Marina, at the mouth of Bronte Creek.
